John Melnicki
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer

John Melnicki founded the company in 2000 and has served as Chairman of the Board since 2002. During his tenure, Mr. Melnicki successfully led the company through significant organic growth and transformed the company into a global leader of security services. In addition, he is the senior security advisor for various government agencies, research, and educational institutions and serves as principal internal investigator for several technology organizations in the United States and abroad. Previously, Mr. Melnicki spent nearly twenty years with the Department of Defense, where he served as Special Agent. He is the author of several articles and has contributed to numerous publications on the topics of background screening, intelligence, counterintelligence, espionage, and terrorism. Mr. Melnicki holds a BA from American University.

Jill Barrett
Chief Operating Officer

Jill Barrett is accountable for HLA's corporate operations, specializing in contracts, product development, and marketing. Ms. Barrett joined the company in April of 2006. She previously held a number of senior business administration positions in the public and private sectors. Ms. Barrett holds a BA from the University of West Florida and Master's Degree in Public Policy from The College of William & Mary.

Martin Stevenson
Vice President and General Counsel

Martin Stevenson oversees HLA's legal department with efforts focused on strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, general legal operations, advising on intellectual property issues and corporate governance. He joined the company in February of 2002. Mr. Stevenson graduated from the Catholic University Law School.

Bill Michalsky
Vice President, Worldwide Operations

Bill Michalsky is responsible for the company's global operations. Mr. Michalsky joined the company in 2002, after serving a number of management positions. He partners with the executive team on strategic initiatives and has played an active role in the company's mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Michalsky holds a BA from the University of Southern California.

Nancy Mars
Vice President, IT Security

Nancy Mars holds responsibility for the design, development, delivery and monitoring of HLA's information technology security. Ms. Mars also oversees the company's global technology security, software development, and compliance standards. Ms. Mars joined the company in September 2001. She previously held a number of senior IT, software development, and engineering positions. Ms. Mars holds a BA in from Pennsylvania State University.
